CNN's Forecast for 2011

CNN reports on the future of the real estate market: http://money.cnn.com/2010/11/10/real_estate/make_money_2011_home.moneymag/index.htm

The housing market appears to be stable.  This is actually an indicator that nationwide homes are sitting on the market, foreclosures are frozen due to poor documentation, builders are unable to secure loans, and the job market remains weak.  As CNN reports, demand from the majority of consumers is low because of economic uncertainty.  The housing market has been propped up by government tax incentives and low mortgage rates.  The slightest economic change could drop the price of new developments and homes.  Nationwide people are being advised to wait on selling their properties for two to three years to let the market recover.  Do not expect the housing market to dramatically improve anytime soon.  According to this report some areas may see a 3% increase in the second half of  2011.
